ES Windows Fence Installation: The West Palm Beach Owner’s Guide
ES Windows fence installation in West Palm Beach typically runs $3,500 – $9,000 installed, depending on fence length, concrete work, and how much of the old hardware has to be cut out. We stock ES Windows-compatible post kits, rails, and gate hardware on our trucks, and we can usually get the job scheduled within a week of your written estimate. Most West Palm Beach homeowners discover the problem the same way: a gate starts dragging, a post leans after a storm, or the fence panel pulls loose from the frame because the original installer anchored it into sand instead of a proper substrate.

We’re an independent contractor, not affiliated with ES Windows. What that means for you: we match your fence to the exact ES Windows model and finish you already have, and we stand behind the install with our own written guarantee. Curtis Lane, who runs Bradford Remodeling Co West Palm Beach, has been doing this long enough to know that in Palm Beach County, a fence is only as good as the footing under it. More on that below.
Which ES Windows Models This Applies To

ES Windows builds extruded aluminum fence systems that bolt to their window mullions and perimeter frames. The fence runs we install most often in West Palm Beach are the ES-W 300 and ES-W 400 series, which share the same post profile but use different rail brackets. The compatibility gotcha: the ES-W 400 uses a wider top rail channel, and if someone installs a 300-series panel into a 400 frame, the panel will sit loose and rattle against the glass in any wind over about 15 mph. You’ll hear it before you see it.
How to identify yours: look at the inside face of the fence post, about six inches up from the base. ES Windows stamps a two-line code there: the series number first, then the finish code (usually PA for powder-coat aluminum or AN for anodized). If the stamp is worn off, measure the rail channel width. 300-series channels are 1 1/8 inches. 400-series channels are 1 3/8 inches. That quarter-inch difference is the difference between a fence that locks in and one that never seats right.

Signs Your ES Windows Fence Installation Is Failing
- Gate drags or won’t latch. This is almost always a hinge post that’s pulled out of plumb. In West Palm Beach’s sandy soil, a post set without a deep enough concrete collar will rotate under the gate’s weight within two or three seasons.
- Panel rattles in the frame. The rail bracket screws have stripped or the wrong series bracket was used. Both are field-correctable, but if the bracket slots are wallowed out, the bracket needs replacement, not tightening.
- White oxidation streaks on the posts. Aluminum doesn’t rust, but salt air from the Intracoastal and Atlantic will eat through a compromised powder coat. Once the bare metal is exposed, the corrosion will travel under the finish and lift it in sheets.
- Fence post leans after any named storm. The footing wasn’t deep enough, or the installer skipped the concrete collar entirely. West Palm Beach code calls for fence footings to extend below the soil’s shrink-swell zone, which here is 30 inches minimum, more if you’re within a block of the water.
- Glass panel adjacent to the fence shows stress cracks. The fence frame was bolted too tight to the window mullion, and it’s transferring wind load straight into the glass. That’s a mounting error, not an ES Windows defect, and it’s why torque settings matter.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a typical West Palm Beach single-story home with 20 to 30 linear feet of ES Windows fence and one gate, you’re looking at $3,500 – $9,000 installed. That includes removing the old fence and hardware, drilling new footings to code depth, setting posts in concrete, installing the new ES Windows-compatible panels and brackets, and hauling off the old material.
What swings the number: gate hardware (a self-closing, magnet-latched gate assembly adds $400 – $700), how much concrete work the footings need, and whether the existing window mullions have to be re-drilled or repaired. If the old install left the mullions chewed up, fixing that before we hang the new fence is a separate line item. You get that line item on your written estimate before we start, not as a change order in the middle of the job. Every fence install we complete leaves with a written 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the work fails within a year, we come back and make it right at no charge. Straight number, full scope, no surprises after the invoice.
DIY or Call Us?
You can check a few things yourself before you call: is the post plumb (use a level), are the bracket screws tight, is the gate hinge pin worn oval. Those observations help us quote faster. Where DIY goes wrong is setting new posts in West Palm Beach soil without the right equipment. A proper footing here is 30-plus inches deep, 8 to 10 inches in diameter, and poured in one lift. Digging that by hand in sand and shell rock is a rough afternoon, and a post set too shallow will lean again next storm season. We’ve also seen homeowners strip the ES Windows mullion bolt holes by over-torquing, and that repair costs more than the fence bracket it was trying to save.
This is not high-tension work like a garage spring, but it is structural. A leaning post can pull the fence frame against your window and crack the glass, and that’s a $1,500-plus repair behind a $300 post. If you’re anywhere near the water where the salt air is already working on the finish, get it done right the first time. FAQs

A properly installed ES Windows fence with good footings and an intact powder coat will last 15 to 20 years in West Palm Beach, though salt-air exposure within a mile of the water can shorten the finish life to 10 to 12 years before it needs re-coating. The weak point locally isn’t the aluminum, it’s the footing and the bracket hardware. If those are done right on day one, the fence outlives most other parts of the window assembly. Call (728) 203-9809 if you’d like an honest read on how much life your current fence has left.
Sometimes, if the concrete footing is sound and the post itself is straight, we can re-shim and re-set the post without replacing it. If the concrete collar is cracked or the post base is corroded from salt exposure, replacing the post and footing is the only fix that won’t fail again in two years. We’ll tell you which one you have before we quote it, not after. Call (728) 203-9809 for a written estimate either way.
Most single-story fence runs with one gate take one to two working days, including demo, footing work, and installation. Concrete cure time doesn’t hold up the job because we set panels after the footings are set but before the concrete has fully cured, which is standard trade practice here in West Palm Beach. The site is clean and the fence is secure when we leave. Call (728) 203-9809 to schedule a measurement.
We stock the ES Windows ES-W 300 and ES-W 400 rail brackets, post caps, gate hinges, and latch assemblies on our trucks, along with compatible aftermarket options for discontinued finish codes. ES Windows doesn’t sell direct to the public, so we source through authorized distributors and keep the common failure parts on hand. For an exact match to your finish and series, call (728) 203-9809 with the code stamped on your post, and we’ll confirm what we need to order before your estimate.
