CGI Kitchen Remodeling: The West Palm Beach Owner’s Guide
If you have CGI cabinets or a CGI kitchen system and a door, drawer, hinge, or cabinet box has failed, we can match it and install the replacement. A typical CGI kitchen remodeling project in West Palm Beach runs $14,000 to $45,000, depending on how much of the kitchen is being rebuilt versus repaired. Most owners discover the problem the same way: a drawer stops gliding, a door won’t close square, or a hinge tears out of the cabinet side panel. Sometimes the failure is cosmetic, like delaminating veneer from Florida humidity. Other times the cabinet box itself has started to sag.

We stock common CGI hinges, drawer glides, and mounting hardware on our trucks. For full cabinet replacements or layout changes, we order direct from CGI or match with equivalent-spec cabinet lines. Bradford Remodeling Co West Palm Beach is an independent service provider and not affiliated with CGI. That means we tell you straight whether the part is worth replacing or whether you are throwing money at a cabinet that is already done.
Which CGI Models This Applies To

CGI cabinets come in several series lines, and the hinge and glide hardware differs by series and by year. The model label is usually on the inside of the cabinet door or on the drawer box side. If the label is gone, measure the overlay: a half-inch overlay hinge does not fit a full-overlay door. That one measurement saves you a return trip and a wrong part. We check the overlay, the bore pattern on the door, the drawer glide length, and the cabinet box depth before we quote anything.
For CGI specifically, the full-overlay doors use a 35mm cup hinge with a 9mm deep bore. The factory half-overlay uses the same cup size but a different mounting plate. If you order the wrong plate, the door hangs proud of the frame by an eighth of an inch and never sits right. When it comes to drawers, most CGI boxes use a 22-inch or 24-inch side-mount glide with a 1/2-inch clearance to the cabinet opening. We carry both lengths on the truck. For cabinet boxes or face frames, OEM replacement panels are the right call when the door and drawer fronts are still good. If the box has water damage or the face frame is pulling apart, a quality aftermarket box from a cabinet shop that matches CGI specs is often the better spend. You get the same joinery and plywood grade without paying for the name stamped on the cardboard box.

Signs Your CGI Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Drawer glides catching or sticking. The ball bearings inside the glide have worn flat, usually on the bottom track. You’ll hear a gritty sound and the drawer will fight you in the last two inches.
- Cabinet door dropping or dragging. A hinge plate is bending or the screws have stripped out of the face frame. In West Palm Beach humidity, the particleboard or MDF around those screws swells and loses its bite.
- Veneer peeling on door edges. Moisture gets under the laminate at the top and bottom edges first. Once it starts, it travels fast. This is common in kitchens near the Intracoastal where salt air adds to the problem.
- Cabinet box sagging in the middle. The top rail or back panel has lost its fastening to the wall. The box is taking weight it was never meant to carry. You’ll see a visible dip when you sight down the countertop line.
- Hinge screws pulling out of the door. The 35mm cup hinge has wallowed out its bore, usually because the door was slammed one too many times or the original screws were over-torqued at the factory.

DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check the overlay, the hinge cup size, the drawer glide length, and whether the cabinet box is firmly fastened to the wall. Those are measurements and observations, and they cost you nothing. What you should not do is try to re-bore a hinge cup freehand, rebuild a sagging cabinet box, or swap a face frame without the right jigs and clamps. We have unfixed more than a few homeowner “fixes” where the new screw holes chewed up the door and the whole panel had to be replaced anyway. At that point the cheap fix costs more than calling us the first time.
If you want a straight diagnosis and a written price, call (728) 203-9809. We’ll look at the cabinet, tell you what’s actually wrong, and give you the number before any work starts.
FAQs

CGI cabinet boxes and doors typically last 15 to 20 years in a West Palm Beach home before hinges, glides, or veneer start failing. The humidity here shortens the life of particleboard and MDF compared to drier climates, so boxes in unconditioned or poorly vented kitchens fail sooner. Call (728) 203-9809 if you’re seeing signs early, and we’ll tell you whether repair or replacement is the right spend.
Hinges, glides, and mounting plates can almost always be replaced, and that fixes most single-point failures. A cabinet box with water damage, a split face frame, or a wallowed-out hinge bore is usually better replaced than patched. Get a written quote either way before you commit.
A cabinet replacement or hinge-and-glide refresh takes one to two days on site. A full kitchen remodel in West Palm Beach runs four to eight weeks depending on cabinet lead times, countertop fabrication, and the city inspection schedule. We give you a timeline in writing with the estimate.
We stock common CGI hinges, drawer glides, and mounting hardware on our trucks. Full cabinet boxes and doors are ordered to spec, and we also work with KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone products when a repair turns into a rebuild. If you need a CGI part, call (728) 203-9809 and we’ll check the truck first.
